It was fairly easy for me to choose a topic. I love fashion and I just want to do anything that's relates to fashion. The 1950s catches my eye because of the time period. The cold war was still happening. While the men fought , the women started fashion trends. I decided to stop at the 1990s because that's when fashion started be influenced easily. Not only by major events but by movies, and entertainers. I didn't want to go into the 2000s because it's present. Many major events didn't happen in the 2000s for me to actually talk about it. If you look back on the last 10 years you can see the fashion is basically repeating. Fashion influences everyones life at some point and time. Wether you think about it or not. The world goes through a lot of things that inspire your fashion.
I choose to show my topic through a website. It's way easier to fit all my ideas together. I tend to make mistakes. I wouldn't want to spend money on a board and keep on messing up. The website allows me to show more of my creative side. My audience will like my website because. The website is filled with facts and pictures. That enables the reader to catch more than just a plain topic. Also the events that were happening around the time periods show just how fashion evolved. My website has a lot of pictures. Which allows the audience to analysis. Allowing them to not only get a simple background but they leave with a picture in their mind. I feel as if choosing a website was the right way to go.
The way conducted my research was easy. I thought going into the project I would know everything. Turns out I learned a lot of new things. For example the war affected women. All the money was going to the war. There was no money for clothes. So women turned to cheap fabrics. Even the cheap fabrics made a fashionable statement. I used sources like google. The most used source was fashion source books. These books give information about each decade. They provide me with everything. Also I used books that fashion icons themselves wrote. I think overall my research was pretty good. It got me where I needed to be.
My topic relates to this years theme. With the events that happened within the years fashion changed. From the fabrics to the length of dresses and skirts. Fashion evolved.
Through each decade something in the fashion world changed. Fashion is and will always remain a big part of our life's.
